We haven’t even fully processed the 2016 NFL Draft, which took place a few weeks ago, and ESPN Draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. is already compiling his rankings for next year’s class. A few weeks ago, he rolled out his full “big board.” This week, he focused on the top quarterbacks in the class, naming the top five senior and underclassman signal callers that could go next April.
The underclassman list is full of the big name players that most college football fans are familiar with, headlined by Clemson Heisman hopeful Deshaun Watson. The senior list is a bit more interesting, with Davis Webb, who is transferring from Texas Tech to be Jared Goff’s heir apparent at Cal, at the top.

Brad Kaaya and J.T. Barrett both play for big time programs and have racked up plenty of accolades so far in their careers. Guys like Mitch Leidner and Cooper Rush, on the other hand, have flown farther under the radar, but as this year’s draft proved, if you can throw the ball, teams will find you.
If we know anything about the draft process, it is that these rankings will look completely different in 11 months.
