ESPN SEC Network anchor Peter Burns thinks he knows what’ll happen with Ohio State and Alabama.
This Saturday, if Ohio State beats Wisconsin, it’ll finish with an 11-2 record and a Big Ten title. Alabama, meanwhile, sits at 11-1 with no opportunity to play for an SEC title after its loss to Auburn last week. If there’s only one College Football Playoff spot left, who gets it?
ESPN’s Peter Burns thinks he knows the answer – and it’s Alabama.
Burns believes that if Ohio State wins the Big Ten and has two losses – one of them ugly – they’ll be in the same situation Penn State was in last year. Penn State didn’t get in last year – an 11-1 Ohio State team did. Alabama could be this year’s Ohio State, oddly enough.
Last year Penn State won the Big 10 Championship, but lost 2 games, one being a blow out.
This would be the SAME exact scenario for Ohio State this year.
Alabama will go over Ohio State if it comes to it.

Of course, there is a way they both get in. If TCU beats Oklahoma, the Sooners are likely out. In that scenario, both the Crimson Tide and the Buckeyes would likely sneak in. We’ll know more Saturday.
