One of the stories people in Columbus love to tell about their legendary coach, Woody Hayes, involves driving and gasoline. Ohio State’s five-time national champion apparently hated Michigan so much that whenever he had to drive to the northern state, he would stop at a gas station just short of the border to fill up his tank. Hayes did not want to give Michigan’s economy any of his money.
The following isn’t as extreme as that tale, but it’s close.

An apparent Ohio State fan had the unlucky fate of getting a rental car with Michigan plates. Driving a Michigan vehicle in Columbus is asking for trouble, so the Buckeye supporter wanted to make sure their fellow Ohioans knew where their loyalties lie.
