Score: No. 18 Ohio State 68, No. 4 Michigan State 60
Star(s): Michigan State: Adreian Payne 12 Pts, 15 Reb. Ohio State: Aaron Craft 21 Pts, 3 Reb.
Story: After coming off of a tough loss to Indiana at home, Michigan State hoped it could come back with a win against Ohio State on the road. Unfortunately for the Spartans, they were unable to get it done.
The first half was full of many lead changes, with MSU’s Branden Dawson scoring the final four points as the Spartans went into the locker room with a 31-25 lead.
The second half was a different story with the Buckeyes taking off on a 24-5 run, with Aaron Craft dominating Michigan State’s backcourt. With Keith Appling lacking energy and confidence, the Spartans struggled to respond. A three-point play by Gary Harris cut the Buckeyes’ lead to two with under three minutes to play, but the Spartans wouldn’t get any closer as Appling turned the ball over on a crucial possession late.
