A report surfaced Wednesday, revealing that the Big Ten is considering banning true freshman from seeing the field – or the court – in football and men’s basketball.
The conference’s plan is labeled “A Year of Readiness,” essentially mandating all freshman football and men’s basketball players redshirt their first years on campus for “the health of the educational experience.”
Ohio State linebacker Darron Lee, like many others, finds this concept ridiculous.
@11W what genius thought of this idea

Lee redshirted his first year at Ohio State before becoming a huge part of the Buckeyes’ national championship defense this past season. Everyone doesn’t need a year to adjust, though. Forcing all football and men’s basketball players to sit out their first year on campus is an absurd concept.
