The Ohio State football team will be wearing its alternate, chrome uniform against Virginia Tech Saturday, sources confirmed to College Spun Wednesday night.
The Buckeyes last wore the uniform, which features a chrome-colored helmet, numbers, and pants, against Clemson in the Orange Bowl. Ohio State also wore it twice during the 2013 regular season against Penn State and Wisconsin, respectively.
Urban Meyer’s squad went 2-1 in the uniforms last season, defeating Wisconsin in a close contest, Penn State in a blowout, and losing to Clemson.
The Buckeyes wore a white alternate against Michigan last November.
Ohio State players were wearing the chrome helmet at practice Wednesday afternoon.
