Social media can often get college football players in trouble. If you’re a high school player who wants to play at Ohio State, your social media accounts could significantly hurt your chances of playing for the Buckeyes, too.
Appearing on “The Dan Patrick Show” this morning, Buckeye coach Urban Meyer spoke about the difficulties social media can bring to his job. Meyer said that his Ohio State staff will heavily investigate the Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts of the high school players they’re recruiting.

This surely isn’t a new concept and it’s likely something that most major football programs do, but Meyer seems to be putting a big emphasis on recruiting players who have steered clear of any trouble.
