Only three players made the cut to go to New York City.
Penn State running back Saquon Barkley was considered a shoo-in to win the Heisman Trophy until late October. However, Barkley was held to 142 yards rushing on 49 carries (2.9 ypc) against Ohio State, Michigan State and Rutgers, crippling his chances.
At the same time, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield soared, becoming the new Heisman favorite. Mayfield, Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson and Stanford running back Bryce Love were the only three players who will attend Saturday’s Heisman Trophy ceremony.
Several Nittany Lion fans let their feelings known on Twitter about Barkley’s absence.

The person who tweeted about Barkley’s draft status has a good point. He will probably go ahead of all three Heisman finalists.
Even without being invited to New York, Barkley’s college resume is incredibly impressive.
