The Chicago Cubs have a huge fan base in the Midwest, and the organization needs to reach out to just about all of those fans to fill the Wrigley Field stands in late July during what has been another down season. One of the promotions the Cubs came up with was Big Ten Night — which occurred this evening.
For Big Ten Night, the Cubs gave away team hats of 12 different color schemes — one for each school in the conference. Fans can now support the Cubbies in pretty much every color — here’s a photo tweeted out by ESPN’s Darren Rovell:

It’s a pretty cool promotion, but I bet a lot of Ohio State, Nebraska, and Indiana fans will get confused with Reds supporters soon — that will be pretty maddening considering Cincinnati is a division rival.
