Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany States Rutgers To Enter Big Ten As Expected, Despite Hermann Scandal
By now, you’ve undoubtedly heard about the Julie Hermann scandal that has been unraveling at Rutgers University over the past several weeks. Hermann was hired by Rutgers to replace former athletic director Tim Pernetti following the Mike Rice abuse scandal, but it has come out that Hermann has her own history of alleged abuse.
Today, we found out that even with the allegations Rutgers will still enter the Big Ten in 2014 as expected. Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany put any speculation over the issue to rest, clarifying that the issues Rutgers is having with Hermann are not conference related and are local matters to be handled by Rutgers alone.
As of now, there has been no word on whether or not Hermann will still take on the Athletic Director role at Rutgers on her starting date of June 17.
