Needless to say, it’s been an emotional week at Penn State. This past Monday, the NCAA announced that the Nittany Lions would become bowl eligible immediately, effectively cutting the school’s postseason ban in half. Then, Saturday, PSU was tasked with going on the road to Rutgers to play the Scarlet Knights in their first Big Ten home game ever. It certainly looked like Penn State’s players were a bit overwhelmed – they trailed 10-0 at half and didn’t take the lead until just over a minute left in the contest.
But after the victory, which moves the program to 3-0 on the year, the players celebrated in grand fashion. Here’s a clip of them belting out “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes.
It’s starting to look like Penn State could have a special season. The Nittany Lions should be able to navigate through their non-conference schedule with a 4-0 record (they only have UMass left) and weren’t dealt an overly difficult Big Ten slate. Could it be the first of many celebrations?
