This year’s second national semifinal game will be between Wisconsin, a 2-seed from the West, and Kentucky, an 8-seed from the Midwest. The Badgers reached their first Final Four during the Bo Ryan era by knocking off 1-seed Arizona Saturday night. The Wildcats ran through arguably the most difficult region, defeating Wichita State, Louisville and Michigan.

Prediction: Kentucky’s size has been an issue for every opponent it’s faced in the NCAA Tournament. And while the Wildcats may not have the services of sophomore big man Willie Cauley-Stein who is out nursing an injured ankle, that didn’t seem to matter much against Michigan. UK’s young freshmen seem to have figured out how to play together – an issue they faced all season – at the perfect time.
Wisconsin has been among the elite squads all year, so it’s no surprise that the Badgers have reached the game’s greatest stage. But in this game, they have a severe disadvantage in the athleticism department. Kentucky has the most talented squad left in the tournament, and unless UW can shoot the lights out, they’re going to have a hard time staying with the Wildcats. We’ll take UK – meaning we also think that we’re going to see the fourth UK vs. UF matchup this season.
