There’s been some serious movement on the 2018 recruiting trail lately.
Entering this weekend Clemson held the No. 5 spot in the 2018 recruiting class rankings, according to 247Sports. Today, the Ohio State Buckeyes used a pair of huge recruits to snag the No. 5 spot, rising one place in the rankings.
The Buckeyes landed commitments from 4-star offensive tackle Max Wray from Franklin, Tennessee. Then the Buckeyes landed a shocking commitment from 4-star defensive back Josh Proctor. Why was it shocking? Well, 247Sports’ Crystal Ball Predictions had Proctor 100 percent to Oklahoma. In the end, the Oklahoma native went with Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes.
We’re still a few months away from the 2017 college football season, but it’s fun to take a look at where things stand before the heavy hitters visit the top schools. Miami and Penn State have jumped out to a quick lead, but expect last year’s No. 1, Alabama, to make up significant ground as we draw towards National Signing Day.
