The Gators beat out two SEC foes for his commitment.
Hampton (Ga.) Dutchtown four-star safety Trey Dean was committed to Tennessee until he re-opened his recruitment earlier this month.
Dean visited Alabama, Florida and Kentucky and all three programs were vying for his commitment. Today, he chose one.
Dean signed with the Gators, and was acknowledged by new UF head coach Dan Mullen on Twitter moments ago.

Dean is the No. 22 safety in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.
The early signing period begins today and runs through Friday. It appears that most high-profile recruits will sign this week, which could take some of the shine away from National Signing Day in February.
