Micah Parsons, the nation’s No. 1 defensive end per 247Sports’ composite rankings, rolled out a new top nine on Friday night.
Parsons, a five-star player who was committed to Penn State from February 2016 to April 2017, has opened up the recruiting process. The Nittany Lions are still involved in his recruitment, however, along with a who’s who of big-time programs: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, and Ohio State.
He announced the top nine on Twitter on Friday night.

Despite his long commitment to Penn State, the Nittany Lions are not expected to wind up with Parsons at the end of this cycle (and most players don’t wind up returning to the program that he decommitted from.) Ohio State is now considered the clubhouse favorite, receiver 63-percent of the 19 predictions that have been submitted to 247’s Crystal Ball.
Parsons is not only the No. 1 defensive end in the country, but he is the No. 1 player in Pennsylvania, and the No. 3 player in the class of 2018 overall. This is one of the bigger prizes in recruiting this year.
