The college football expert is predicting a crazy national title.
Are you ready for a national title game featuring a couple of two-loss teams?
One college football expert thinks you should be.
Brett McMurphy, formerly of ESPN, has released his latest bowl projections for The Score and he’s got two multi-loss teams playing in the College Football Playoff national title game.
His prediction: two-loss Ohio State vs. two-loss Auburn.
Projection: Auburn vs. Ohio State
I might be the only person on the face of the Earth projecting an Auburn-Ohio State title game. To get this matchup, Auburn will have had to close with wins vs. Georgia, Alabama, and Georgia again in the SEC title game. For Ohio State to get into the playoff, it will need big wins vs. Michigan and Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game. If you don’t agree with this projection, take a number and get in line. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
ESPN’s 538 gives Ohio State a 28 percent chance to make the playoff and Auburn a 20 percent chance.
