Notre Dame’s football team went 4-8 last season. The Fighting Irish return a decent amount of talent, but have to replace their starting quarterback.

One ESPN analyst thinks the South Bend program is a legitimate “dark horse” college football team.
“I didn’t think so until I got (to Notre Dame),” Trevor Matich says. “They’ve got to win 10 games, 11 makes them a serious threat. The thing with Notre Dame is that they’ve got some issues to deal with on defense. Their offense has no flaws at all.”
Matich thinks new starting quarterback Brandon Wimbush will have a great season.
“The offense should be able to carry (them),” he says.
