The Gators could be inching closer toward hiring Chip Kelly.
Yahoo! Sports’ Pete Thamel reported on Sunday that Florida and Chip Kelly had begun the “mutual exploration” phase of the hiring process.
The possibility of leading the Gators reportedly intrigues the former Oregon and NFL coach. The Gators are very much intrigued by him, too.
Now, NFL insider Benjamin Allbright is reporting that Chip Kelly/Florida is picking up “serious steam.”

If Florida wants to move quickly with its coaching search, Kelly is probably the most-likely big name to take the job soon. Scott Frost and Dan Mullen are believed to be the other two major candidates and both are currently leading their teams to big seasons.
