Check out this graphic that compiles every major sports publication’s preseason top 25 prediction into one handy chart.
With the 2016 college football season is in the books, it’s time we turn our attention toward next season, and speculate as to which teams will be contending for a national championship. The official preseason top 25 won’t come out until August, but it’s fun to evaluate where analysts are placing teams in relation to one another.
Here’s a pretty helpful chart that lists all major publications’ way-too-early top 25s:
Of course, Alabama sits at No. 1 in seven of the eight rankings, with Florida State occupying the other No. 1 spot. Those are the two programs expected to compete for a national championship in January, but we won’t even have to wait that long to see the two heavyweights face off—they kick off the season with a head-to-head matchup.
Also worth noting, the four playoff teams from last year—Alabama, Clemson, Washington and Ohio State—all found themselves in each of the top 25 rankings. September can’t come soon enough.
