Keith Jackson has passed away.
A true college football legend has passed away. Broadcaster Keith Jackson reportedly passed away Friday night surrounded by friends and family.
Jackson was 89.
He covered everything from minor league baseball games to the Olympics during his 50-year run as a sports broadcaster.
Of course, Jackson was most well-known for his college football broadcasts along with his famous catchphrase: “Whoa, Nellie!”
The voice of college football and so much more has left us. My mentor and dear friend, Keith Jackson passed last night surrounded by his family. Truly one of the greats in the broadcasting industry. I am grateful for my time with a true legend. Thank you for the lessons KJ. pic.twitter.com/SPGIZXrZNA

The final call of Jackson’s career came during what has been tabbed as the greatest college football game of all time — the national title game between USC and Texas in the Rose Bowl in 2006.
He will be missed.
