The Tigers’ quarterback underwent a back procedure.
LSU announced today that senior quarterback Danny Etling underwent a back procedure.
Etling, who threw for 2,123 yards last season, transferred into the Tigers’ program from Purdue.
He took over as the team’s starter a couple of games into the season.
Here’s the release from LSU:
LSU head coach Ed Orgeron issued the following statement today on senior quarterback Danny Etling.
“Danny had a minor back procedure this morning and everything went alright,” Orgeron said.
Etling, an Academic All-District selection for the Tigers in 2016, threw for 2,123 yards and 11 touchdowns in helping LSU to an 8-4 mark last year, which included a 29-9 win over Louisville in the Citrus Bowl.
It’s unclear how long Etling will be out.
LSU opens its season on Saturday, Sept. 2 against BYU.
