Miami vs. Virginia preview:
It’s been a streaky season for the Hurricanes. They opened with four straight wins against Florida A&M, Florida International, Appalachian State, and Georgia Tech. Then Miami dropped four straight, starting with a loss to in-state rival Florida State, and then continuing with North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Notre Dame. The Hurricanes got back on track with a big 51-28 win over Pitt last weekend.
Virginia has not had much success this season, with just two wins coming over Central Michigan and Duke. Even if the Cavaliers win out, they will not be going bowling this year, unless a few 6-6 teams decide not to partake in a bowl. The Cavaliers enter this game on a four-game losing streak and could struggle to put up points on a solid Miami defense.
The Hurricanes and Cavaliers have played 13 times in history, with the Hurricanes holding a slim 7-6 advantage.
Miami vs. Virginia prediction:
Virginia doesn’t really stand a chance in this one. The Cavaliers played a tough-fought game against Louisville, but that magic seems to be gone from Virginia after last week’s loss to Wake Forest.
Miami got a little bit of its mojo back with a win over Pitt last weekend, and will look to find continued success. With a win this weekend, the Hurricanes will have six on the season and become bowl eligible.
Miami gets the win, in a blowout.
