NC State vs. Clemson preview:
NC State has a lot of momentum coming off a solid three game win-streak, punctuated by a 10-3 win over Notre Dame played in extremely poor conditions caused by Hurricane Matthew. The Wolfpack defense has allowed only 17.6 points a game and the offense has scored at least 33 per (throwing the ND game out, of course). NC State is a formidable force on both sides of the ball, and the Wolfpack shouldn’t be taken lightly, by any means.
Clemson washed their hands of Boston College last Friday 56-10 and will look to continue their dominance in front of a raucous home crowd this Saturday. After their statement win over Louisville, they’ve made it clear that they are the alpha in the ACC and they’ve got championship aspirations.
NC State vs. Clemson prediction:
Clemson wins. They’re just too good. NC State might be able to match Clemson for the first half, but there’s too much firepower on offense and too much talent on defense for the Tigers. I predict a game-changing play in the second half that allows the Tigers to eventually pull away.
