Nothing like some healthy trash talk before the big game.
Notre Dame, ranked third in the College Football Playoff standings, takes on No. 7 Miami (Fla.) in prime time Saturday night. College GameDay will be in South Florida for the game, and the winner solidifies their standing as a playoff contender.
With these two programs back in the top 10 and facing off, it is like the calendar flashed back to the late 1980s. And what would a Notre Dame-Miami matchup be without some trash talk?
Miami writer Andy Slater screenshotted this tweet from Notre Dame backup quarterback/starting holder Montgomery VanGorder, in which he says Miami fans will disappear after Saturday night.
This was in response to a tweet from former Florida State baseball player Quincy Nieporte alleging that Miami fans are coming out of the woodwork.

VanGorder isn’t a major player for the Irish, but his comments count the same.
This is one rivalry we wouldn’t mind seeing renewed.
