The answer seems obvious.
Barring injury, J.T. Barrett is going to be Ohio State’s starting quarterback.
Yeah, the Buckeyes have some really talented QBs behind him and he did struggle in the passing game at times in 2016, but Barrett is the guy. He’s about to be a three-year captain and a four-year starter. Every college football program in the country, save for a handful, would take him over their quarterback.
Today, OSU’s quarterbacks coach was asked if Barrett is the “clear-cut” starter.
His answer: Um, yes.

The battle for Ohio State’s backup quarterback job is much-less clear. It’s going to be either Dwyane Haskins or Joe Burrow, but it’s pretty tight right now.
OSU opens its 2017 season on Thursday, Aug. 31 at Indiana.
