He thinks the Fighting Irish are in really good shape for the playoff.
Of all the college football teams with 1 loss, which is in best position to make the College Football Playoff?
Is it, maybe, Notre Dame?
Paul Finebaum thinks so.
The ESPN college football analyst talked on SportsCenter this morning about the Fighting Irish, whose lone loss came at home to undefeated Georgia.
“Notre Dame has a great loss against Georgia and they have the schedule in front of them,” Finebaum said, per 247Sports. “Now, the schedule is brutal. Do I think they’ll get through that? No, but they’re in position (to play they’re way in) with a loss.”
Here’s the rest of the Fighting Irish’s schedule:
|Sat, Oct 21||vs||USC||7:30 PM|
|Sat, Oct 28||vs||NC State||3:30 PM|
Sat, Nov 4
Sat, Nov 11
Sat, Nov 18
Sat, Nov 25
If Notre Dame can get through that unscathed and emerge 11-1, you’d think the Fighting Irish would be a near-lock for the College Football Playoff.
ESPN’s Football Power Index gives Brian Kelly’s team just a 10.6 percent chance to win out, though.
