The Volunteers could have interest from the Florida State coach.
Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher has been mentioned as a possibility for the Texas A&M job if Kevin Sumlin is ousted.
The Seminoles’ head coach could reportedly be in play for another major SEC job, too.
Football Scoop is reporting that sources have told them that Fisher “would listen” to the Volunteers if they called.
From their report:
We continue to hear that Jimbo Fisher would listen if called. This is really fascinating. Again, we have no idea if Jimbo would be offered the position (or Texas A&M for that matter) but even the suggestion that he would listen is telling.
Jon Gruden has constantly been listed as candidate 1A for Tennessee, though it seems extremely unlikely that it will happen.
Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen is another coach who could reportedly be in play.
