The Volunteers could be making some big assistant coach hires.
Jeremy Pruitt’s assistant coaching staff at Tennessee is expected to be a very well-paid one.
Some big names have been mentioned as possibilities for the Vols – former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze has been floated for offensive coordinator – and the Knoxville program is reportedly ready to break the bank for some of these guys.
Tennessee insider John Brice reports that the Vols are going to have a “record” salary pool for Pruitt’s staff.
Been in the classroom but got a message & am told @Vol_Football is giving Jeremy Pruitt a 6-year deal worth nearly $4 million on avg & a school-record & among nation’s-best roughly $5 million salary pool for assistants.

Getting a top-notch offensive coordinator on the defensive-minded Pruitt’s staff should be a major priority. It looks like the Vols are prepared to do that.
