Malzahn has been linked to the Razorbacks.
Sports Illustrated’s Andy Staples joined The Paul Finebaum Show this afternoon to discuss the coaching searches at Tennessee and Florida, as well as Gus Malzahn’s future at Auburn.
Many have speculated that Malzahn might be done at Auburn if he doesn’t beat Alabama this weekend, or could even decide to leave The Plains on his own to return to his home state of Arkansas and coach the Razorbacks. It is expected that Arkansas will part ways with Bret Bielema
Staples threw some water on that fire today, saying he doesn’t think Malzahn would leave Auburn for Arkansas.
“If I’m Gus Malzahn and I look at that Auburn roster that’s coming back, I would have an awfully hard time leaving,” Staples said. “I don’t care how in tumult the athletic department is. That roster that he has coming back? That can win a lot of games.”

The easiest way for Malzahn to put any of these rumors to rest is to beat the Crimson Tide on Saturday.
A win over ‘Bama would put Auburn in the SEC title game and clear the path to the College Football Playoff.
