An NFL assistant coach is reportedly a potential candidate for the Tennessee head coaching position.
Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Volunteers are considering New York Jets’ defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers for the vacancy.
The Daily News has learned that the University of Tennessee has expressed interest in Jets defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers to be its next head coach, according to sources.
It hasn’t yet been determined if he’ll interview for the job, though.
Rodgers, 48, played college football at Tennessee. He’s been an NFL coach since 2003, but spent roughly a decade in the college ranks, last coaching the defensive line at Arkansas in 2002.
