Texas A&M redshirt freshman running back Rakeem Boyd is transferring and has signed a letter of intent with Independence (Kan.) Community College, per sources.
The Houston-area product was on-track to be a contributor this upcoming season for Kevin Sumlin as he saw increased playing time. However, academics have plagued the three-star prospect since arriving to Aggieland.
Boyd was a three-star recruit coming out of high school, ranked the No. 23 running back in the country by 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.
