College football is back, y’all!
The 2017 season kicks off on Saturday, when Colorado State hosts Oregon State in Fort Collins at 2:30 ET. That day features four games, including Stanford vs. Rice in Sydney, Australia, a nice appetizer before things really get going the following week.
Thursday, August 31 features 14 games, the following night has another eight, and on Saturday, September 2, things really get going. Three more Power Five vs. Power Five games will be played Sunday and Monday as well.
Last season, Matt Lombardi won our staff picks contest, finishing with a season record of 382-116, five games clear of second place finisher Andrew McCarty.
This year, we have two new competitors in the field: Aaron Nanavaty and Jen X. Williams. We’ll be updating the standings every week. With the extended “Week 1,” we have 57 total games for the week.
Here are our staff picks for every Power Five and Top 25 game for College Football Week 1.
