The former Red Raiders’ head coach doesn’t seem to be a fan of the West Texas town.
Tommy Tuberville’s stint at Texas Tech was pretty short-lived. The head coach led the Red Raiders’ program from 2010-12. He had two winning seasons, going 8-5 in ’10 and 7-5 in ’12 before heading to Cincinnati.
Apparently, Tuberville wasn’t a huge fan of Lubbock, Texas.
During a radio interview, Tuberville kind of trashed the West Texas town.
“You run me off at Auburn and you ship me to Lubbock, Texas,” Tuberville said on Rick & Bubba, per 247Sports. “I’m going to tell you what, that’s like going to Siberia. Somebody asked me, ‘What’s Lubbock look like?’ It looked like Iraq.”
He did say he liked the people in the town, at least.
“Well, I love those people out there,” he added.
