Virginia Tech vs. Notre Dame preview:
Virginia Tech has three losses on the season, two against very suspect competition. The Hokies got stomped on by a Syracuse team that isn’t going to make a bowl game, and got run over by a poor Georgia Tech team. To make matters worse for the Hokies, they seem to be playing down to poor opponents and have two teams left on the schedule who have struggled all season. If their form from the season holds true, the Hokies are in for a close final two games.
Where to even begin with Notre Dame? The Fighting Irish have just four wins on the season, and only one win against a team with a winning record (Miami 6-4). The season quickly got out of hand for head coach Brian Kelly as Notre Dame dropped three of its first four.
The Hokies and Fighting Irish have never played each other.
Virginia Tech vs. Notre Dame prediction:
Notre Dame is the more talented team, though that hasn’t mattered much this season.
Virginia Tech is the better team on both sides of the ball statistically so far this season, and it will continue in the game against Notre Dame. The Hokies have dreams of an ACC title appearance, and the Fighting Irish will not derail them of that chance.
Virginia Tech 31, Notre Dame 27
