Devon Dotson, one of the top point guards in the class of 2018, has a huge week ahead as he closes in on a commitment.
247Sports ranks Dotson, a four-star composite recruit, as the No. 26 player in the country.
He is also the No. 6 point guard, and No. 3 player in North Carolina.
According to Rivals‘ Corey Evans, he’s opening up a big recruiting stretch with an unofficial visit to Clemson this weekend, as the Tigers host Auburn in football. That kicks off a week full of in-home visits.
On Saturday, September 9, Dotson will take an unofficial visit to Clemson. Following it, an onslaught of in-home visits is set to commence.
Florida: September 11
UCLA: September 12
Maryland: September 13
Kansas: September 14
Evans notes that Dotson was set to visit Florida, but the hurricane season has altered his plans, though the Gators are likely to receive an official visit down the road. He has already taken officials to Arizona and Kansas, and Clemson, Wake Forest, Maryland and UCLA are among the schools vying for the remaining three official visit dates.
Dotson also holds offers from Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Miami, Notre Dame, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, and many others. Kansas is considered the favorite, with 93-percent of the votes on 247’s crystal ball.
