A former college basketball star attempted to impress NFL scouts today as he looks to change sports.
VCU’s Mo Alie-Cox, who was a four-year hoops standout for the Rams, worked out for over two dozen NFL teams today. Alie-Cox who was listed at 6-foot-7, 250 pounds on the VCU basketball roster, is attempting to play pro football as either a tight end or defensive end.
As you can see from the tweet of those on the scene, Alie-Cox is a little bit shorter than listed, but is still a physically impressive dude.

Below, you can see how Alie-Cox compares to a couple of the top tight end prospects in this year’s class, as well as Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas, who was a basketball standout at Portland State.

So is Alie-Cox the next Antonio Gates or Jimmy Graham, college hoopers who turned into All-Pro tight ends?
Probably not, but even if he isn’t drafted later this month, some team will have surely have him in camp as an intriguing free agent.
