The high school basketball star has been described as a “prodigy.”
A South Florida high school basketball star was tragically shot dead on Sunday.
Malcolm Nicholas III, a standout for Miami Senior High and Mater Academy Charter, was killed in a shooting at roughly 7 p.m. E.T. Sunday in Overtown, a neighborhood just north of Downtown Miami.
Police are still looking for the suspect(s).

Nicholas, a 6-foot-5, 190-pound guard, had earned scholarship offers from multiple Division 1 programs, including Chattanooga and Eastern Michigan.
He had averaged 21 ppg, 11 rpg and 5 apg as a senior at Mater Academy and was named to the Miami Herald’s All-Dade first-team.
Nicholas had been attending Believe Prep Academy in Tennessee.
