Ball and two other UCLA players were arrested in China.
Three UCLA freshman basketball players, including LiAngelo Ball, were arrested in China for shoplifting, and could face a length prison sentence if convicted.
ESPN’s Arash Markazi reported that LiAngelo Ball – LaVar’s middle son – along with freshman Cody Riley and Jalen Hill were released from jail early Wednesday morning and are being required to stay in a hotel during the legal process.
On Mike & Mike this morning, Mike Greenberg revealed that the players allegedly stole sunglasses from a Louis Vuitton store.
UCLA officials released the following statement about the incident:
“We are aware of a situation involving UCLA student-athletes in Hangzhou, China. The University is cooperating fully with local authorities on this matter, and we have no further comment at this time.”
The Bruins are set to face Georgia Tech on Friday night in Shanghai.
