A top uncommitted recruit is down to these four teams.
Most of the 2017 recruiting class is set, however, there are still a few top recruits that have not decided where to play their college ball. Among them is M.J. Walker, a Lithia Springs (Ga.) native that plays for Jonesboro.
Walker’s high school coach spoke to 247Sports about his recruiting.
“There is a certain way we do things at Jonesboro and I think some of those factors are the same at his four top schools – Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech and Florida State,” Maehlman said. “All four of those teams play good, fundamental basketball at both the offensive and defensive end.
“That is a big part of his decision. He isn’t worried about going to the No. 1 team in the country. He studies the game and watches what they do. He knows if they are post or guard oriented. He is making his decision based off all of that.
“I think that’s why this process is taking a while. They are not trying to hold out. He just wants to take his time and make sure he makes the right decision.”
The top four is Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Florida State, while UCLA remains an option as well. Walker is the No. 25 recruit in the country and the third-highest rated recruit who has not committed.
