Bucknell recorded a historic comeback tonight.
There was pandemonium in the Patriot League Monday night.
With less than one minute remaining, Bucknell trailed Colgate 61-51. All hope seemed lost.
With 21 seconds left. the Bison were still down eight when Kimbal McKenzie hit a jump shot to make it 64-58. He was fouled on the attempt and make the ensuing free throw to cut it to a five-point game.
At this point though, a comeback still seemed out of reach. Colgate was up five with the ball with 21 seconds left.
Improbably, Bucknell scored the final six points of the game, the last three on a McKenzie three-pointer as time expired. McKenzie also set up a three-point play by Nana Foulland which made it 64-62 with 11 seconds left.
McKenzie’s final shot set off a wild celebration.
