Ryan Tannehill’s injury might be worse than initially thought.
During practice on Thursday morning, Ryan Tannehill went down awkwardly without any contact while he was escaping the pocket.
While video of the injury made it seem like the injury was serious, it was reported later that Tannehill had not suffered any structural damage.
On Sunday, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, contradicted that report. Salguero reported that Tannehill suffered a partially torn ACL during Thursday’s practice.
Feel bad for Ryan Tannehill. Missed end of last season. Will miss this season — surgery or not. Start of next year at risk.

It’s awful news for Tannehill, who missed the latter part of the 2016 season with a strained ACL and MCL injury. The Dolphins coaxed Jay Cutler out of retirement and into a one-year deal in the wake of the Tannehill news.
