Pittsburgh Steelers assistant coach Joey Porter was arrested Sunday night.
Joey Porter, a linebackers coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was reportedly arrested Sunday night following his team’s Wild Card victory over the Miami Dolphins.
The former Steelers’ linebacker was involved in an incident at The Flats on the city’s South Side and reportedly charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
Here are some more details, from ESPN:
Police said security guards at The Flats on Carson summoned a police officer who was working at a nearby restaurant “due to an unruly customer who was in the process of assaulting the doorman.”
Police said the officer stopped the assault and arrested the customer, who was later identified as Porter, 39, a former star player.
Porter reportedly posted $25,000 bond this morning and was released. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 19 for an initial hearing.
