The ESPN insider is predicting a big NFL trade.
John Clayton sees a big trade happening between the Cleveland Browns and the New England Patriots.
The ESPN NFL insider appeared on Scott and BR on Mighty 1090 in San Diego and revealed that he sees Jimmy Garoppolo ending up in Cleveland.
The Browns need a quarterback, have a ton of draft picks, and New England is currently without a high pick after some of their offseason moves.
A trade makes sense, Clayton says.
From The Big Lead:
“I think in the end, they have to come to some sort of Jimmy Garoppolo trade,” he said.
“They need some volume,” he said of their defense. “That’s why I can’t imagine them sitting there with a quarterback who’s not gonna play next year because he’s got Tom Brady on the team, waiting to get a 3rd round compensatory pick in 2018, when he can get a good group of draft choices now.”
ESPN’s most-notable NFL insider, Adam Schefter, has confidently said throughout the offseason that the Pats will not be moving Jimmy G.
Who’s going to end up being right – Clayton or Schefter?
