Jordy Nelson injury update: Packers WR sustained a serious injury on Sunday afternoon.
Jordy Nelson reportedly suffered a significant injury to his ribs during Sunday’s NFL Playoff Wild Card round game against the New York Giants.
The Packers’ top wideout, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, suffered fractures to two ribs in the win over the Giants.
Will he be able to play on Sunday afternoon against the Dallas Cowboys?
“It will take an incredible effort,” Rapoport says.
It’s possible Nelson can figure out a way to play on Sunday against the Cowboys, but it seems unlikely based on the severity of the injury.
ESPN has the following update:
Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson spent Sunday night in the hospital with a rib injury suffered in Sunday’s win over the New York Giants, but he was back at the team facility Monday, coach Mike McCarthy said.
McCarthy said that Nelson won’t try to practice until Saturday.
“If he doesn’t practice Saturday, then he won’t play in the game,” McCarthy said of Sunday’s NFC divisional playoff game at the top-seeded Dallas Cowboys.
Dallas and Green Bay are set to kick off at 4:40 p.m. E.T. Sunday. The game will be televised on FOX.
