Daelin Hayes did more than get ahead on school work by starting classes at Notre Dame in January.
As one of five members of the Fighting Irish’s 2016 signing class to get an early jump at school, Hayes had personal access to the team’s fitness program and equipment. The 6-foot-3 linebacker weighed 260 pounds when he stepped on campus, but his latest post on Twitter suggests his physical shape has drastically changed.

According to 247Sports, Hayes is now weighing in at 243 pounds and dropped his overall body fat percentage form 21-percent to 12-percent.
Looks like he’s definitely ready for pre-season training.
Hayes, a four-star linebacker, picked the Irish over Michigan State. He originally had committed to USC, but re-opened his recruiting once Steve Sarkisian was fired. Out of high school, Hayes was ranked as the the No. 133 overall player in the nation, No. 10 outside linebacker and No. 4 prospect in Michigan per the 247Sports Composite.
Notre Dame opens their season against the Texas Longhorns on Sunday, Sept. 4.
