Last night, as Notre Dame’s students were sound asleep in their beds – or up late cramming for a test as I was – South Bend got some unexpected visitors.
No, it wasn’t Santa and it definitely wasn’t the tooth fairy… it was a bunch of Michigan students.
The students stormed campus last night to make a pre-game statement before the Wolverines and the Irish square off at primetime on Saturday night. Their sign, hung at the Knute Rockne entrance to the stadium, represents what Michigan fans might as well get used to before Saturday’s game: failure.
Such a lame attempt at gamesmanship is nothing to be proud of; it simply fuels our fire and gives us Notre Dame kids another round of jokes to impress our friends with at dinner.
So good one Michigan. You really got us.
