According to ESPN, Notre Dame backup quarterback Gunner Kiel will transfer to Cincinnati ahead of the upcoming 2013-2014 college football season.
Kiel announced he would be transferring a few weeks ago, and the star recruit took visits with Ohio, Ball State, Cincinnati and Miami (OH) before making his decision. Kiel will have to sit out a full season due to transfer rules, but he’ll be able to play in the 2014-2015 season.
Kiel was one of the top overall recruits in the country a year ago, but Everett Golson’s emergence as the quarterback of the future at Notre Dame meant that in order to play, Kiel would have to do it elsewhere.
