During her four years at the University of Notre Dame, Skylar Diggins made a huge impact on Fighting Irish women’s basketball. Not only was Diggins a four time All-America selection and the the unquestioned leader of a team that went to three straight Final Four games, but she was a great ambassador for the women’s game and a fantastic representative of a school that strives for greatness outside of athletics as well.
Today, she was inducted into Notre Dame’s ‘Ring of Honor’ — she’s only the fourth person to have her jersey raised to the rafters:
What a special day….I’m so honored and thankful! Go Irish!

It’s the ultimate honor for Fighting Irish greats — Diggins follows Adrian Dantley, Austin Carr, and Luke Harangody in line. Next up will be Digger Phelps, who will be honored later this season on the 40th anniversary of his famous victory that ended UCLA’s 88-game win streak.
