Former New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera was honored by seemingly every MLB team during his final campaign this past year. But it may actually be an NHL event that houses the best Rivera tribute we’ve seen to date. Check out this ice sculpture, made by the world-famous Shintaro Okamoto, that was on display at Sunday’s NHL Stadium Classic matchup between the Rangers and Devils at Yankee Stadium. It’s serious.
According to News12, the bust weighs 250 pounds. Sadly, I don’t think Mo is going to be able to keep this one – unless he finds a way to build an year-round igloo.
