College sports fans have long been complaining about the hypocrisy of the NCAA and its amateurism rules. It appears that the rest of the world might be starting to notice, too. The Daily Show, one of Comedy Central’s highest performing programs each day, ran a satire on the organization last night.
In the piece, a wrestler from Minnesota named Joel Bauman explains how releasing a song led to the loss of his scholarship. Ed O’Bannon, the leader of a class-action anti-trust lawsuit against the NCAA, was also interviewed for the clip about his name appearing in video games.
